Thank you for
celebrating with us on Thursday December 02, 2010.
Thursday, as one of our customers put it, was: "3-C's Day"
(Cookies, Coffee and Calendars.) Indeed it was.
Coffee was served along with our famous homemade cookies and treats
and of course, calendars were given out by the scores.

Downtown Trick or
Treat at FMBT
Farmers & Merchants Bank & Trust had some
scary, and some not so scary visitors during Marinette's downtown
Trick-or-Treat on Oct. 28. Bank employees handed out bags of candy
to all of the children who stopped in to Trick-or Treat.
Approximately 350 "scary" kids made their way into and out of the
bank... whew!

M&M Game Warm-up
Thanks to all of you who joined us for our
M&M Game Warm-Up. Neal Dionne served up many free hot dogs and
sodas, courtesy of Farmers & Merchants Bank & Trust, to fans of
the Marinette Marines and Menominee Maroons, Friday, Oct. 15,
between 11a.m. until 1 p.m. His old fashioned hot dog stand was
located near our downtown bank's east Ludington Street entrance.
Many wore their team's colors and all were fired up in
anticipation of Saturday's big game!

Chamber Golf Outing
"Golf through the Years"
MARINETTE – The Marinette Menominee Area Chamber of Commerce
(MMACofC) held its annual golf outing August 31, 2010 at Little
River Country Club. The theme of the event was “Golf through
the Years.” Golfers were encouraged to wear old-time golf garb.
The event, which typically attracts about 150 golfers, included
dinner and awards.
“The golf outing is the chamber’s major fund raising event of the
year. Proceeds from this event help us help local businesses in a
variety of ways,” notes Mary Johns, chamber executive director.
“The business of the chamber is business and we try to use the
profits from this event to help our businesses thrive.”
Businesses were invited to become a hole sponsor. A sign at the
hole proclaimed the business' sponsorship. Businesses were also
invited you to come up with a special game for their sponsored
hole, and even post a company representative at the hole. One
enterprising member gave a way cookies in a plastic bag one year,
along with her business card.
The Farmers & Merchants Bank & Trust, a long-time supporter of the
MMACofC sponsored a hole again this year. Tammy Billock and
her son Jacob took the theme of "Golf through the Years" seriously
and dressed the part. In addition to that, Tammy devised a
nostalgia game from a poster board with pictures of our bank's
Presidents since 1902 as well as several bank Officers who were
not Presidents. Golfers had to choose two pictures of people who
were not presidents. Tammy and her son awarded a prize to
those who guessed correctly. Jacob also displayed an old
golf club on loan from Mike Piasecki, VP & Loan Officer at the
bank.
Thanks to Cindy Bailey of the UW-Marinette and Theater on The Bay
for Tammy's costume, John & Julie Nutter of Menominee High School
for Jacob’s costume and Mike for the use of the club...

2010 Relay For Life
A team of walkers from Farmers & Merchants Bank & Trust raised close to
$2,000 for the American Cancer Society at the Relay for Life held at
Higley Stadium in Marinette. Walkers circled the track from 6 p.m. Friday,
June 25 until 7 a.m. Saturday, June 26. The members of the bank's team
included employees Mike Piasecki, Sue Porter, Angie Salewsky, and
Marguerite Lozier. Members of Lozier’s family also participated. Relay for
Life was conducted this year with a “birthday” theme. Participants were
asked to bake and decorate cakes. A contest was held to select the “best
cake.” People voted by purchasing tickets and depositing them into
containers next to the cakes. The Farmers & Merchants Bank & Trust cake,
made by Lozier’s niece Tammy Bulin, received the most votes and earned the
“best cake” honor. That cake and others in the competition were raffled.
Proceeds from the raffle and “best cake” voting were included in the money
raised by the teams participating and donated to the American Cancer
Society.

during the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.

The Hoagland Trust Donation
The Hoagland Trust has made its first $1,500 donation
to the M&M Great Lakes Sport Fishermen to cosponsor the annual Kids
Fishing Derby. This year’s derby was held at the Menominee Marina
Saturday, June 12.
Farmers & Merchants Bank & Trust President Thomas Maxwell announced last
year that the Hoagland Trust would become a major sponsor of the event.
The bank is the trustee of the trust fund established by Joseph “Shorty”
Hoagland of Marinette, who died in 1985.
Hoagland was an avid fisherman who had a soft spot in his heart for
children, despite having none of his own. He left behind a trust of more
than $90,000 with the wish that interest earned by the money be used to
provide activities for kids that would make them happy.
The M&M Great Lakes Sport Fishermen has been conducting the Kids Fishing
Derby each June for the past 25 years.
The event annually attracts close to 400 youngsters, along with their
parents and guardians. Thousands of dollars in prizes are given away each
year to participants, who are also served food and refreshments.

Bank Employees' Rummage Sale
The employees of Farmers & Merchants Bank & Trust
held a rummage sale on Saturday May 22, 2010 from 8 a.m. to noon at
1159 Edwin St. A variety of different items were provided by bank
employees, their families and friends. All
proceeds were donated to the American Cancer Society.
Robert
O. Angwall named Director Emeritus

In recognition of his 29 years of dedicated service on the board of
directors of Farmers & Merchants Bank & Trust, Robert O. Angwall has been
named Director Emeritus.
President Tom Maxwell presented Angwall with a plaque Feb. 9, during
Farmers & Merchants Bank & Trust’s annual shareholders meeting at the
bank’s downtown Marinette location, 1644 Ludington St. Angwall is retiring
from the board.
“He’s been a valued advisor who has always done what he thinks is best for
the bank,” Maxwell said. “When Bob was elected to the board in 1981 it was
a difficult time. His courage and support will never be forgotten.”
Angwall, one of the bank’s longest serving directors, was a member of the
board’s personnel and loan committees.
During his tenure, the bank in 2000 constructed a new building at 2811
Roosevelt Road to house its Marinette branch, and in 2006 added a new
branch at 114 S. U.S 141 in Crivitz.
Angwall said he is pleased to have played a role in the bank’s growth. His
greatest satisfaction came from seeing the vital role the bank and its
employees play in the lives of the people they serve. “We always
encouraged people be active in the community,” he said.
Angwall, 91, of Marinette is a retired businessman. He was vice president
of Angwall-Dormer cold storage and commercial fishing in Menominee; he and
his late wife, Merlaine, were the owners of a downtown Marinette dress
shop; he was owner and president of companies involved in gas and oil
drilling in the U.S., Canada and Australia; and a licensed ship captain
who delivered vessels constructed at Marinette Marine and other shipyards
to their owners.
He also served on the Marinette County Board.
Angwall has two children and four grandchildren. His son Lloyd Angwall and
his wife Rita live in Green Bay. His daughter Merlaine (Peanuts) Zarbano
and her husband John live in Oshkosh.

The "Evil Queen," Nancy Lemery, and Snow White, Tammy
Billock, employees of Farmers & Merchants Bank & Trust, invited golfers to
win prizes by tossing apples through holes in a picture of Snow White's
castle at the Marinette Menominee Area Chamber of Commerce's golf outing
Sept. 1, 2009 at Little River Country Club. The bank sponsored the sixth
hole. The theme for this year's golf outing was "At the Movies."

Appreciation Day
CRIVITZ BRANCH BRAT FRY Our Crivitz branch at 114
S. Hwy 141 held its annual free brat fry on Friday August 13th
from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. We invited all our valued customers to
join us for lunch!

Debbie Atwood Crivitz Branch Manager. Tom is pictured in the

2010 4th of July Parade
Farmers & Merchants Bank & Trust's Crivitz
branch entered this float with the name "An All American
Celebration" in the 2010 Crivitz Fourth of July parade. The float
featured a cardboard caricature of Uncle Sam grilling food for a
pair of Little League baseball players "(not pictured,) Charlie
Johnsen Jr. and Vinnie Jopek, who were seated at the picnic table.
The float was designed to depict the theme of the parade which was
"Celebrate America." It was designed and constructed by employees
of the Crivitz branch and family members. They also marched
