Northeast Wisconsin/Upper Peninsula of Michigan
Established in Delaware County Pennsylvania in 1948, Hi-Q is the oldest
continuing academic quiz competition in the United States. This
competition was expanded in 1976 to Washington State, in 1977 to
Wisconsin/Michigan, in 1982 to Maine, in 1984 to Arkansas, and in 1987 to
Presently, The Farmers & Merchants Bank & Trust,
in cooperation with The Kimberly-Clark Corporation and the University of
Wisconsin - Marinette, sponsor the program. "We believe the
experience and support of academic competition encourages academic
achievement, initiative, and good sportsmanship. We feel that the
experience gained from this program as a participant or as a supportive
spectator is invaluable" said Tom Maxwell, President of the Farmers &
Merchants Bank & Trust.
2015 marked the 68th anniversary of the Hi-Q Program and the 39th year of Northeast Wisconsin/Upper Peninsula of Michigan Region competition.
